Comonly Used Web Terms
Website:
A series of webpages put together using links and other web functions.

Add-on:
A function added into a page that has a special code to preform a job.

Hyperlink or Link:
A part of a text or an image that links one page to another or preforms a
special function.

Web Server:
A space where webpages are stored.

Web Host:
The company that a webserver is purchased from.

Java:
A company that specializes in web functionality.

Blog:
A blog (short for "web log") is a type of web page that serves as a publicly
accessible personal journal (or log) for an individual.

Browsers:
Browsers are software programs that enable you to view WWW documents.
They "translate" HTML-encoded files into the text, images, sounds, and other
features you see.

FTP:
File Transfer Protocol. Ability to transfer rapidly entire files from one
computer to another, intact for viewing or other purposes.

Link:
The URL imbedded in another document, so that if you click on the highlighted
text or button referring to the link, you retrieve the outside URL. If you search
the field "link:", you retrieve on text in these imbedded URLs which you do not
see in the documents.

URL:
Uniform Resource Locator. The unique address of any Web document. May be
keyed in a browser's OPEN or LOCATION / GO TO box to retrieve a document.
